< Back Coco Trudy I saw the link for the new puppies and just had to look. I played the video of the Pups and our beautiful Coco responded to your voice. I think she still misses you and her puppy days at TLC. I wanted to share with you that Coco is now over 1 year old and part of the family as if she has been here forever. Your fine start that you gave her has made her an easy to train wonderful companion for us and our little cairn Rosie. You would think they were littermates the way they get on together. < Back Alex Trudy and Bill, Have to tell you the latest about Alex. Alex now goes out in the morning and checks over his territory (smells) to see who was around while he was sleeping. We leave the back door almost closed and when he is ready to come in he pushes it open and comes in. So I decided he needs to learn to close the door. About 2 weeks ago I started teaching him how to close the door. He knows what I want and just wasn't getting it closed tight. This morning he went behind the door which he does and pushes it with his nose. Now he has learned that if he leans against the door and pushes with his body the door will go closed and that is what he did this morning. He is amazing. Now we have to think of something else to teach him. Sunday evening while walking, a family saw him and wanted to pet him. They thougnt he was beautiful and loved him. We still are getting raves about him. He is a special dog and we love him so much. When he and Dar are out especially in the morning (Dar working in the garden) Alex is roaming around looking for chimpmunks or whatever he smells, but he keeps coming back to check on Dar. He doesn't let us out of his sight. If I'm inside, he comes looking for me when he comes in. Also when I play the piano he lays down and goes to sleep. We are still working on the wanting to jump and give a kiss when he meets someone. He sure loves people. Thanks again for letting us have this wonderful dog. He still is a puppy to me. Puppies need out every 15 min if loose in the house at 8wks of age. If in a playpen about every 20-30 min. If in a crate every 1 1/2- 2hr. The first week is the most stressful week of puppy ownership. Puppy pampering is a one week extended stay. Where we work on: 1. Individual Crate Training Night and Day 2. Socialization 3. Leash training 4. Socialization 5. Beginner potty training 6. Socialization 7. Community Trips 8. Socialization 9. Beginner Basic Commands. Sit, Stay, come, down. 10. Confidence Building We take them to the Vet for Second DHLPP and Bordetella (Kennel Cough $40) Vaccines at 9wks or older when age appropriate. A $100-$200 value. Puppy will start learning basic behaviors and socialization skills in a positive home environment. Your puppy will enjoy family life comfortably in the name of training. Puppy pampering is gentle, kind, effective, and sensitive to the fact that puppies are babies. Short sessions through out the course of the day. During the 1-4week program, the puppies will learn: Day and Night individual Crate Training, where they will go in and out of their crate on command, and to sleep in their crate with no problem at night; Beginner Leash Training, where they will learn to walk on a leash beside the human; Basic Commands of sit, down, (1 wk training); wait and a recall (come after they wait 2-4 wk training). They will be taught several times per day, Potty training will be strongly under way. When they are first taken out of their crate or pen, they will be taken outside to potty. The basic training will be started but it is important to continue the commands and method used by the trainer to continue the success after going home. You will receive video and text updates throughout the weeks so you can see your puppy's progress. If you pick up here at TLC your trainer will meet with you to show you how to be successful. If you choose the Frederick, Md option when it is time to pick up your puppy, your trainer may be not available to go over in person but is always available to talk to you on the phone. A Week is $650.00 After week of training completed, Fee is non refundable. TLC by the Lake Puppy Pampering has higher up spots on the deposit wait lists, paid for by those that want puppy pampering. If you are interested in puppy pampering and would like one of the available higher up spots on the deposit wait list, please let us know and the Puppy pampering fee would need to be paid at that time. Selection Process If a puppy is listed -AVAILABLE- beside their Description on their mother page. Then that means their is NO waiting list and they are available to the first Deposit/Qualified family. You need to contact TLC at TLCbytheLakeStandardpoodle@hotmail.com and verify the puppy is available. Then you can submit a Application and Deposit to hold that particular puppy. YOU MUST verify with TLC that the particular puppy is available before submitting a deposit. Selection for Litters/Breeds with a waiting List: When a litter is born we start at the top of that Breed and that breed's size wait list every new Litter. We go down seeing who is ready for this litter. When you say you are interested in a litter, you are put on that litter wait list and will be picking on selection day at 4-5 wks of age. When we fill the litter with enough families to match the same amount of puppies, we then set up Selection day, usually at 4-5wks. This can take up to 2 wks to wait for families to get back to us to have the final litter wait list set. And that also may change up till selection day. We have selection day at 4-5 weeks of age and puppies are picked in order of oldest to newest deposit date. Every family is appointed a time on selection day. Selection starts at 10am and goes every 30 min per family. Selection is done here at TLC by the Lake (McHenry, MD). If you are not able to come on Selection day you can pick through pictures and video and/or you may do your selection by Skype, FaceTime or Zoom.
